I enjoyed seeing the choir and more so listening they are a wonderful part of the service. The service was good but I still like the sermon towards the end.

Rally Day feedback...we are really new and trying to get plugged in.
So far the worship has been inspiring, musical, and the peace part is
the best...I think.

The Parkview Sanctuary is really interesting, and beautiful.
I love the wall hangings and would love to see a truly multi-cultural
service -- or words of Hopi ancestors, African market women,
Darfur refugees, Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, folk music.
Walter and I today commented several times on the water
fountain -- its placement in the service, the theme of water,
water music...one of my favorites the choir sung from OBrother
WhereARtThou? -gorgeous. We didnt like the staging of the homily.
Want to hear more from Pastor Steve. A mature congregation who
is most welcoming...and knows each other. Our third time today and
afterwards, I wondered how to connect to issues that really concern me.
It is hard to be new. Would love to see sacred texts read or healing services in the chapel. That too is beautiful.

Have to run -- just thoughts and rambling. Immerse, yes. In ways, we are but how to plug in here? I have many African issues going on now -- so few to share with. Walter needs a voice--somewhere? We are patient.
Thanks.

I love the church service, from time to time I would like to have more of a choir feel but I enjoy its contemplative and informative point of view without being "preacy". I like that there are several opportunities to give back that are announced in service. This is why I love going to Parkview. I am hoping to ask Pastor Steve for a volunteer opportunity myself that has been placed upon my heart. I'm very excited to extend my talents and offer worship in this manner.

I really like the "peace" gesture. Have it before the last hymn. Wait a couple of minutes, start the intro, and everyone will come back together. To me it's an important gesture every Sunday, not just on a selected Sunday. The "Peace of the Lord" is then carried with us out of the worship service.

I attended a workshop on the new praise songbook at General Synod. I was hoping to introduce to you. So glad you got a copy. I will be interested in your comments. If we order 5 or more - we can get a reduced rate...or maybe free shipping - I can't remember - will have to check notes.

Thank you Lynn and Susan for generating the worship blog. I hope as more people become aware of it, they will write thoughts. I'm reading the book, One Bread, One Body, about multicultural worship. It is one I hope
members of the Worship & Prayer Ministry Team will read as well as others in the congregation. I have a copy of it, and it is probably available at the Parish Resource Center.

Order, and just received a recently released songbook from the national UCC headquarters. The songs are broken down into these categories: Gather, Encounter, Respond, Go Forth. Some ideas to think about as we look at structure.

Parkview does alot in worship already that is "right" and working...I agree with Lynn about passing the peace....on days when we have it maybe it could be toward the end of the service and we could "pass" and "carry" the peace out to the world.
